Teresa Hernandez, 64
Teresa Hernandez, 64, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 15, 2016. She was born Feb. 12, 1952, in San Juan de Los Lagos, Mexico, Jalisco State to Gregorio and Nemesia Enriquez.
Teresa grew up in her hometown in Mexico and moved to Venice, Calif., with her newlywed husband, Victor Hernandez, where they started their family and stayed in Southern California for six years before settling with the family in Coeur d’Alene in 1978 where her and her husband proudly became naturalized American citizens.
Teresa married her beloved husband, Victor Hernandez on Aug. 18, 1972, in their hometown. They were married for 43 devoted years were they enjoyed raising their three children all born in Los Angeles, Calif. Teresa loved camping with her family throughout the early years surrounded by the pristine views of North Idaho lakes and forests. Teresa also took pleasure traveling with her husband and family throughout Mexico, Canada, Europe and the Holy Land.
Teresa was also very fond of gardening her plants and flowers, breeding canaries, and further took pride in crocheting blankets for her kids and grandchildren. Most of all her talent was radiated in her love for cooking authentic Mexican food for her family and friends to enjoy.
Teresa was a faithful member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene.
Teresa is survived by her beloved husband, Victor of Coeur d’Alene; her daughters, Nora (Laevon) of Western Oregon and Lorena (Greg) of Southern California; son Eddie of Coeur d’Alene; her grandchildren, Anissa, Angelique, Anthony, Christian, Andy and River; pups Chico and Coco; and her expected great-grandchild.
The visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel, with a vigil service starting at 5 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held at noon Friday, May 20, 2016, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, with Father Roger LaChance officiating.
