DRIVERS: Get a clue (or two)
I wholeheartedly agree with a recent letter appearing in The Press, complaining about the number of drivers on the roads today with one or more lights out. There is a dearth of them.
Some time ago I printed a small sign (with large black letters) saying “LITE OUT.” It is next to the console in my car, so if one of the deviants sneaks up from behind, or one approaches from the front, I slow down and hold it out the window, to be plainly seen. Probably 90 percent of the errants have no idea what kind of a message I’m trying to convey; they no doubt presume I’m trying to be a smart-ass.
Another majority of drivers on the road today have no inkling why turn signals were invented. Probably just a handle to grab in case one gets rear ended for not signaling. One has to wonder how in the hell some of these so-called drivers ever qualified for a license.
