RASMUSSEN: The best candidate

| May 12, 2016 9:00 PM

My goal is to hire Duane Rasmussen as the new Kootenai County Commissioner to replace outgoing Commissioner Dan Green. Although Kootenai County voters will cast their ballot for the Republican Primary on May 17, in reality it’s a hiring process. I desire to hire the most experienced and educated individual for County Commissioner.

The Kootenai County Commissioner job consists of business, financial and personnel management, quasi-judicial which is code and ordinance enforcement, and legislative, creating codes and ordinances. The job demands a commissioner with a diverse skill set mix and a solid knowledge of State and Federal law. Duane has the complete skill set.

The newly elected commissioner will hold office for a two year term. Therefore, voters shouldn’t hire a candidate who will require a long learning curve. I desire to hire a person that has the skill set to immediately be effective, not one or two years after being elected. If hired, Duane will be immediately effective.

Duane Rasmussen’s experience and education are reasons why you should hire him. He has an undergraduate degree in business administration and judicial doctorate in law. He has a full understanding of how government operates since he practiced law for over thirty years and was employed by the Oklahoma Attorney General Office.

Lastly, he is a proven conservative Republican with local roots. Duane’s family started farming in the region over one hundred years ago. He is a long time active Republican and served as Vice-Chair of the Kootenai County Republican Party.

If you want to hire the most educated, experienced and conservative person for Kootenai County Commissioner, Duane Rasmussen is the right person.
