Bayley, Porter come up

U.S. Open

Derek Bayley, a Lakeland graduate who recently completed his sophomore year at Washington State, finished with a four-over par 74 to finish four strokes from qualifying for a sectional qualifer for the U.S. Open on Wednesday at Tumble Creek Golf Club in Roslyn, Wash.

Coeur d’Alene native Michael Porter finished with a 78.

Corey Prugh of Spokane advanced to the sectional on June 6 in Vancouver, Wash., with a 70.

Daniel Miernicki won the tournament with a 67.
