POEM: On Mother's Day

Thank you for reassuring my heart with your serene smile,

And for nourishing my soul with your kindness,

For whispering in my heart that all will be alright,

And speaking to me with words of tenderness,

Thank you for comforting me with your hope,

And feeding my mind daily with a new thought,

Continue to teach me of character and nobility,

And remind me that what matters most is what’s in my heart,

Thank you for always displaying such care,

And for always conveying such companionship,

Thank you for teaching me the virtue of patience,

And the importance of a good friendship,

I thank you truly from the depths of my heart,

For being my teacher, mentor, and counselor,

I thank you for tailoring this pocket in my heart,

A pocket that will forever hold your love in it dear mother.
