JUDGE: Go for Gutierrez

I hope all Idahoans will remember to vote in the one contested race that will be on all primary ballots May 17: the election for Idaho Supreme Court justice. Judge Sergio Gutierrez has far and away the most relevant experience of all the candidates. As the only judge in the field, “Judge G” was appointed to the bench by governors of each political party (to the District Court by Gov. Andrus, to the Court of Appeals by Gov. Kempthorne). He is a well-respected jurist who is known for following the law in his decisions, rather than any ideology. For these reasons, he was rated the highest candidate by Idaho judges and lawyers for judicial temperament and demeanor, as well as for integrity and independence.

He was also recognized by his peers for excellence in judicial administration when he was awarded the very prestigious Kramer Award. Administration of the Idaho judiciary is one of the most important and least appreciated responsibilities of the Idaho Supreme Court. Judge G is uniquely qualified for this role.

Please take the time to vote in the election for supreme court justice. When you do, I urge you to consider voting for Judge Gutierrez.
