COMMISSION: The missing candidate

I attended the candidates’ forum put on by the Kootenai Shoshone Farm Bureau, Coeur d’Alene Lakeshore Property Owners Association and North West Property Owners Alliance at Candlelight Christian Fellowship the other evening. I found it interesting that Fred Meckel recited his list of his accomplishments but failed to tell everyone that he’s a precinct committeeman on the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee. Then I figured out why. “Missing Meckel” failed to show up for nearly 90 percent of the meetings. (http://www.kootenaigop.org/news/kcrcc-attendance-records-current-through-april-2016) A psychologist would label that “apathy!” This is a position he was elected to and he’s supposed to be representing Republicans in his precinct.

If he’s too busy to attend then why not resign and let someone else do the job he was elected to do? I wonder how many meetings of the BOCC he’d miss if he got elected?
