ANIMALS: Stop inhumane testing

| May 6, 2016 9:00 PM

Each year approximately 80,000 dogs, 20,000 cats, and 300,000 bunnies and hundreds of thousands of other animals are used to test cosmetics, household products, cleaners, and more for non-medical reasons. The dogs are tattooed, debarked, kept in cages and subjected to painful procedures and experiments — repeatedly. Their lives are devoid of sunlight, fresh air, fun and freedom. Seventy thousand of the dogs used are beagles because of their friendly, docile, trusting and forgiving personalities.

Sadly, when companies are done with their testing, the beagles are deemed “useless” and are killed. Most of the major manufacturers in this country continue to test on dogs and other animals. Beagle Freedom Project rescues beagles and other animals used in experimentation in laboratories, giving them a chance at life in a loving home. Go to beaglefreedomproject.org to find out which companies do not perform cruel tests on these loving animals and which ones do. Download the Cruelty-Cutter app to your device to scan in barcodes to determine if products are cruelty free. If you are an animal lover, please be mindful of which products you are buying! In a country that loves animals as much as ours does, companies should not be allowed to do this.

Please stop supporting them by buying products that are cruelty-free. There are many, many companies that do not test on animals. Love an animal and shop smart.
