PREP ROUNDUP: Kootenai boys, girls claim North Star League track titles

HARRISON FLATS — Kootenai’s Madison Napierala had wins in the 100-meter dash and 100 hurdles, as well as on the school’s winning sprint medley team, helping the Warrior girls to a sixth team title in seven years at the North Star League Meet on Tuesday at Kootenai High.

It is the second-straight team title for Kootenai, which scored 125 points. Wallace was second with 72.

Dylan Wright had wins in the 200, 400, 4x400 relay and long jump for the Kootenai boys, who won for the seventh time in nine years, Wallace won the previous two years.

Most schools will compete in the District 1 All-Star meet on Thursday at Post Falls High.

Cd’A’s Ogle medalist

at Idaho Club

SANDPOINT — Coeur d’Alene’s Brayden Ogle shot a 72 to earn medalist honors at the Sandpoint Invitational at The Idaho Club.

Post Falls’ boys finished second with a 300. Lewiston’s boys won the team title with a 298.

Moscow won the girls team title with a 357.

Lewiston’s Kylie Esh shot a 64 to earn girls medalist honors.

POST FALLS — The Vikings swept in boys doubles, girls singles and doubles to beat the Trojans at Post Falls High.

“Coeur d’Alene looked sharp,” Post Falls coach Kirk Hartzell said. “They were composed and played really, really well. Our kids looked tired after a big match against Lake City (Monday), but competed hard.”

Post Falls travels to Moscow today.

Coeur d’Alene plays at Sandpoint next Tuesday.

Chandler Johnson had a hat trick for Coeur d’Alene (8-3, 8-2).
