PREP ROUNDUP: Coeur d'Alene blisters Moscow

MOSCOW — Jane Wilkey struck out 10, allowed one walk and drove in two runs and Halle Kane drove in three runs to lead the Coeur d’Alene Vikings to a 14-1 win over the Moscow Bears on Monday.

Bailee Taylor had a double and a triple and Breanna Burke, Kendall Goucher and Kane also had doubles for Coeur d’Alene (16-0), which faces the Timberwolves in a doubleheader today at Lake City High at 2:30 p.m.

ST. MARIES — Paige Sines struck out seven in the first game, combining with Devyn Wilson for a 1-hitter, and both had triples in the second game to lead St. Maries to a sweep of Kendrick in Central Idaho League play.

“it was a good day on the mound for us,” St. Maries coach Todd Bitterman said. “We had a combined 1-hitter in the first game and a 2-hitter in the second.

“We’re staring to leave less people on base, driving in runs when we need to. We are getting somewhere.”

Sines and Wilson each tallied five RBIs for the day, Kari Ghramm added three, and Aubree Hall and Alexix Cobb had two apiece for the Lumberjacks (9-7. 6-3), who play at Potlatch on Thursday.

MOSCOW — Cameron Luckey finished with two RBIs, Nathaniel English added one RBI, and the visiting Vikings beat the Bears.

Justin Bates pitched five innings of relief, allowing one walk and no hits to pick up the win for Coeur d’Alene (14-5), which hosts Lake City today for a doubleheader at 2 p.m. A full box score was not available.
