Clint Wayne Stevens, 73

Clint Wayne Stevens, 73, passed away due to cancer on April 25, 2016. He was born April 20, 1943, to Derwood and Thelma Steven in Vancouver, Wash.

At the age of 4, they moved to Hayden Lake, Idaho. Clint lived most of his life there. He graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School, but furthered his education earlier than that by a hands-on approach by learning from others and figuring it out himself, as early as age 13 after his father died. His first job was a paper route that helped supplement his mother’s income as she raised the youngest of his siblings. Clint was in the Army Reserves as a Sergeant for a short time as he married and started a family.

Most of Clint’s career was spent driving trucks: logging or petroleum tanker. He always skillfully weaved his way through a million miles of roads; all while raising children, step-children, grandkids and lovingly adopted friends. Clint’s hobbies included landscaping jobs, vacations, enjoying family and helping friends. That is when he acquired his love for tractors. They truly were his toys. In the end he adored spending time with his dog Tucker, friends and family. He was a stellar father, grandfather and friend. Clint was very strong and wise. He worked for his family and friends and set a great example.

Clint is survived by his daughters, Retha (Kenny) Schneider, Lorna (Michael) Turley and Tammy Stevens; and his son, Robert (Ronda) Stevens. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Robert Schneider, Jonathon Schneider, Rachael Schneider, Amanda Russo, Justin Russo, Ryan Stevens, Rance Allen and Paul Turley; as well as his brother, Larry Stevens.

Clint is preceded in death by his parents, sisters and all his brothers except Larry.

A visitation is scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2293 W. Hanley Ave., Coeur d’Alene.
