Matthew Bauman
Idaho track and field
Bauman, a redshirt freshman from Post Falls High, finished fifth and seventh respectively in the hammer throw and discus during the University of Idaho Invitational on Saturday at the Dan O’Brian Track and Field Complex in Moscow. His best throw in the hammer went 159-feet, 1-inch and his top mark in the discus was 132-6, both personal bests.
Brooke Litalien
Lewis-Clark State basketball
Litalien, a 5-foot-7 junior guard, was named to the Frontier Conference Academic All-Conference team, the conference announced on March 25. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic standing, maintain a 3.0 grade point average and be enrolled at their respective school in the previous two semesters. Litalien is a business and sports administration major.
Caelyn Orlandi
Lewis-Clark State basketball
Orlandi, a 5-9 junior guard, was named to the Frontier Conference Academic All-Conference team. Orlandi is an exercise science major.
James Webb
Boise State basketball
Webb, a 6-9 redshirt junior who played his freshman year at North Idaho College, was named a first teamm All-District 17 team by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Webb led the Broncos in scoring (15.8 points per game), rebounding (9.1 per game), blocks (20) and steals (44), while logging 30.6 minutes per game. He recorded 11 double-doubles and scored at least 20 points in eight games. The Augusta, Ga., native led the Mountain West Conference in rebounding, was sixth in scoring, third in field goal percentage (.494) and sixth in steals. The NABC districts are divided by conference. District 17 encompasses the 11 Mountain West schools. The voting is done by the conferences coaches and takes into account statistics and performances from the entire season.
Wednesday Walton
Idaho track and field
Walton, a junior from Post Falls High, won the 400-meter hurdles in 66.04 seconds during Saturday’s University of Idaho Invitational in Moscow. Walton also ran on the winning 4x400 relay team, which won its event in 4:07.87.
Lindsie Scholwinski
Southeastern softball
Scholwinski, a junior pitcher from Coeur d’Alene High, is currently 16-3 with a 1.50 earned run average for the NAIA Fire (26-10) of Lakeland, Fla., with 156 strikeouts in 22 appearances. She has thrown 14 complete games and has six shutouts and one save.
Kolby DeHaas
Wenatchee Valley baseball
DeHaas, a sophomore infielder from Coeur d’Alene High, is batting .308 (12 for 39) with five runs scored, five doubles and nine runs batted in for the Knights, who entered play on Wednesday 2-11, 0-1 in Northwest Athletic Conference play.
