Allison Kirby, who helped the Timberlake High girls basketball team win its first state championship last month, was selected 3A girls Player of the Year on the all-Idaho boys and girls basketball teams.

The all-state teams are compiled by The Idaho Statesman newspaper of Boise, following a poll of coaches statewide.

Kirby, a 5-foot-7 junior point guard, averaged 9.8 points, 3.7 steals, 3.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game in limited playing time for the Tigers, who played their entire roster and pressed full-court in shifts.

Kirby was a first-team all-Idaho selection last year, and a second-team pick as a freshman.

Tigers teammate Keelie Lawler, a 5-8 junior forward, was named to the first team for the third straight year. Lawler averaged 1.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 2.2 assists.

Madi Schoening, a 5-8 senior guard from Sandpoint, was a first-team all-Idaho selection in 4A. Schoening averaged 19.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.8 steals and 1.8 assists for the Bulldogs, who placed third at state. She totaled 1,418 points in her Bulldog career. She has signed to play at Montana, as has Gabi Harrington of Bishop Kelly, the 4A girls Player of the Year.

Sandpoint sophomore Grace Kirscher was named to the 4A girls second team. Kirscher, a 6-0 wing, averaged 13.1 points, 2.1 steals and 2.0 assists.

Post Falls High senior Max McCullough was named to the 5A boys second team. The 5-11 point guard averaged 21.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists this season. McCullough was a first-team all-Idaho pick last season.

Three locals made the 5A girls second team — Melody Kempton of Post Falls, Nina Carlson of Lake City and Whitney Meier of Lake City.

Kempton, a 6-0 sophomore post, averaged 13.8 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.6 blocks for the Trojans. Carlson, a 6-2 junior guard who has verbally committed to Idaho, averaged 11.2 points and 6.5 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who won the consolation championship at state in February. Meier, a 5-5 senior guard, averaged 12.2 points and 3.0 assists.

St. Maries junior Jake Sieler was named to the 2A boys second team. The 5-8 point guard averaged 14.4 points, 5.1 steals and 4.5 assists for the Lumberjacks, who finished fifth at state.

Caleb Symons of Genesis Prep was named to the 1A Division II boys second team. The 6-4 senior post averaged 13.5 points and 6.6 rebounds for the Jaguars, who placed third at state earlier this month in their first season as an Idaho High School Activities Association-sanctioned program.

Two girls from North Star League schools were named to the 1A Division II girls second team — Lakeside junior Lillian Rhea and Mullan senior Charli Sadler.

Rhea, a 5-7 post, averaged 19.3 points, 12.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists for the Knights, who won the consolation title at state. Sadler, a 5-4 point guard, averaged 19.1 points, 13.8 rebounds and 4.9 steals for the Tigers.
