ANNIVERSARY

Wayne and Betty Magnus

50th Anniversary

Friends and family of Betty and Wayne Magnus gathered at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in March to celebrate the couple’s 50th golden anniversary.

Wayne and Betty Magnus, formerly Ms. Betty Fountain, met in junior high and graduated in 1958. The two were married at the Lutheran Church in Greensboro, N.C., when Wayne was in the service and Betty was teaching.

Attending were the couple’s two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Elaine Magnus, and Lee and Ligia Magnus; along with all their grandchildren, Jamie Flanagan, Natalie, Veronica and Karina Magnus; along with her four brothers, Al, Larry, Steve and Brian.

Wayne’s quick wit and sense of humor and Betty’s accomplishments in art, education and literature were highlighted with a slide-show of family memories and photographs. Afterward the Coeur d’Alene Youth Marimba band performed a lively and joyful set. The family band, called “Harmunition” performed — Natalie playing guitar, Karina playing drums and Veronica singing. All enjoyed the gathering of many family and friends to take pleasure in a beautiful dinner and to wish Betty and Wayne many more years.

ENGAGEMENT

Chapple-Daum

Mr. and Mrs. Scott Chapple and Mr. and Mrs. John Daum are pleased to announce the engagement of Jackie Chapple to Jesse Daum.

Jackie graduated from Post Falls High School in 2003 and is employed as a vascular technologist at Providence Vascular Institute.

Jesse graduated from Falls Christian Academy in 2000 and is employed with ILB as a journeyman lineman.

The couple is planning a Saturday, July 9, 2016, wedding and an Alaskan honeymoon cruise.

BIRTH

Korbin Michael Jerome was born March 17, 2016, at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, to Kate (Mailloux) and Blake Jerome of Coeur d’Alene. He weighed 6 pounds 4 ounces. Siblings are Landen, 3, and Emmarie and Braelee, 20 months. Maternal grandparents are Christy Hall Black and Christopher Black of Coeur d’Alene, and Steve Mailloux of B.C., Canada. Paternal grandparents are Jeff Jerome and Cathy Braun of the Silver Valley. Great-grandparents are Denny and Kathy Hall of Cocolalla, Colleen Braun, Terry Jerome and Bonnie Freeman, and great-great-grandmother is Mabel Wilkerson, all of the Silver Valley.
