KROC RX: Not for everybody

| March 27, 2016 9:00 PM

Reading the stories about Dr. Abate’s medical tactics to get people to exercise the pain out and have group sessions about those in REAL PAIN — physical and mental by exercise. Myself, being one who is, being a person who has a few medical problems that doctors are quick to dismiss by saying I need to exercise more, work through pain and the mental issues will go away. Well, I do a lot of exercise, work through pain, caretake for my husband, doing all the heavy lifting, even him. I grimace through the pain, tears down my cheeks most days. And I can’t unsee or bleach my mind of PTS. I’m not asking for anything other than would help my long days and into the nights. I’m offended most visits by being put in a box with addiots. I depend on these legal medicines.

Whatever their problem is, some hard-working ladies are not fit, overweight and some are what a doctor would call “morbidly obese.” I wish for them to be healthier, for themselves and families they are working so hard for. My BMI — Body Mass Index — is below what my height says I should be unless my kidneys start up and edema kicks in. I eat healthy, don’t smoke or drink, which are legal “stress relievers.” So, I think for the abusers and multiple doctor shoppers, thanks for having doctors undermedicate us and allow pain to be unbearable daily.

For the ex-meth addict, Dr. Abate has working out as her “new addiction.” I hope she stays free of illegal drugs and doesn’t drop dead from this workout addiction he thinks is healthy. I am frustrated, yes I want to be treated for my individual issues, not in a kumbaya circle or watch a tape. I also challenge them to start from within their own coworkers. Physician, heal they coworkers! (And us who need the relief.) Blessings!
