Dale A. Worley, 87, passed away on March 10, 2016, at Generations Assisted Living and Wellness in Rathdrum, Idaho.

Dale was born on April 27, 1928, in Kearney, Neb., to Roy and Mildred Worley. His father worked for Washington Water Power and the family moved to Moscow and eventually settled in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Dale graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1946. After high school, he worked as an ice delivery man and then for a local greenhouse. He later was hired at Kaiser Aluminum where he worked for 32 years until his retirement in 1980. In retirement, he was part owner in Grady’s Coin Shop and drove cars for Parker Toyota.

In 1948, Dale met Tory Fields at the Iva Lee dance club in Huetter. They were married on Sept. 5, 1948, at the Methodist Church in downtown Coeur d’Alene. Together they raised two children; Ron and Kay. His greatest joy was being around his children and later his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed golfing and visiting with friends and relatives. Many happy days were spent swimming in the pool in his backyard. He also hosted barbecues to celebrate holidays and birthdays.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mildred Worley; stepmother Ruth Worley; brothers Morris, and Dale’s twin brother, Dean; sisters Betty Dahl and Helen Williams; and infant grandson Brad. His loving wife, Tory, to whom he was married for almost 37 years, passed away on Aug. 25, 2015.

Dale is survived by his children, Ron (Marthanne) Worley and Kay (Scott) Curry; grandchildren Krista Worley and Jeff (Tracy) Worley and great-grandchildren Kylie, Braden and Aubreigh Worley, all of Coeur d’Alene. In addition, he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

The family of Dale and Tory would like to gratefully thank the dedicated and amazing staff at Generations for their unconditional love and care.

Dale and Tory were both dearly loved and will be missed.
