PREP ROUNDUP: Kastning, Pehrson lift Hawks

CHENEY — Katie Kastning went 4 for 4 and scored four runs as the Lakeland Hawks defeated the Cheney Blackhawks 14-9 in nonleague play Thursday.
“I was really happy with the team for stringing some hits together in the first three innings,” Lakeland coach Colleen Bevacqua said. “That really helped us out. We were able to score a few more runs after that and defensively, we were able to hold them.”
MaRynda Pehrson went 4 for 4 and scored three runs for Lakeland (2-3), which returns to action April 5 at home vs. Coeur d’Alene.
