PREP ROUNDUP: Coeur d'Alene freshman Ogle medalist at Shriver Cup

SPOKANE — Coeur d’Alene freshman Brayden Ogle birdied the first playoff hole to earn medalist honors in the annual Jim Shriver Cup on Tuesday at Manito Golf and Country Club.

“It was a great day for him, not only as a freshman, but he had a great stroke all day,” Coeur d’Alene coach Bryan Duncan said. “He played very mature and hit some clutch shots on the playoff hole and beat two of the best golfers in the state of Washington.”

The tournament was delayed for a hour and a half due to snow on the course.

“We were trying to talk them out of not canceling the tournament,” Duncan said. “It’s really hard to reschedule after teams pay their entry fee, and I’m glad they stuck with it. By the time we got to the second hole, it was just wet and the snow was gone.”
