'Ozzie' Odean Kenneth Osborne, 74

| March 20, 2016 9:00 PM

Ozzie was called upon by our holy father, the lord, to stand beside him and act as a guardian angel. He has entered into eternal peace as of March 11, 2016, at Kootenai Health.

He was born to Lloyd and Earnestine Osborne in Redmond, Wash., and was raised in Missoula, Mont. He later moved with his family to Hawaii, and as time went on he spent many years in Orofino, Idaho, and chose to settle and enjoy his days in Post Falls, Idaho.

Ozzie had many interests and loves such as race cars, he was an amazing bowler, and always enjoyed a good game of cribbage. He had a deep passion and love for music, the guitar, entertaining a crowd, cracking well let’s just say less than clean jokes and weekly jam sessions with his son, Lloyd.

He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1958 working the deck of the USS Chanticleer (ARS-7). He and his crew were known to be sailing beside the guardian 7 fleet, completed missions to the Far East, and participated in various salvage and rescue assignments while stationed in San Diego. He was also an active member of the American Legion Post 143.

Ozzie is survived by his son, Lloyd and wife Cindy Osborne (Post Falls); daughter Tess and her husband Nate Evan (Frenchtown, Mont.); four grandsons, three great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters; his longtime love and friend Faith Christopher (Post Falls), her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who he treated as his own. He loved all of them so very much and he will be deeply missed by everyone who was blessed knowing him.

Memorial services and celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the Post Falls Legion. Family asks if any donations are made to please make them to Post Falls American Legion 143, 1138 E. Poleline Ave., Post Falls, ID 83854.
