CAUCUS: Bursting at seams

| March 20, 2016 9:00 PM

Democrats are gathering Tuesday! Perhaps you have heard that there has been so much response to our call to caucus on March 22 that we are opening another site at the fairgrounds to handle the overflow crowd! Be sure to get there as early as you can at either site, well before 6 p.m.

Why are we gathering? We are all declaring ourselves to be Democrats, including independents and others. We are having a family discussion about who will lead our party in the future, the older brother or the older sister. To me, that means when we are finished, and all have expressed their preference, we come together as a family and support the final decision. We all support our party’s nominee for President in November against the right-wing attempt to take over all three branches of government.

Keeping the White House out of the hands of Trump or Cruz is all that matters in the end. A better government for our children and grandchildren, not tearing down what has been built, bled, and died for over 227 years.

After our caucus, we will come together to elect public servants dedicated to a better Idaho, Kootenai County, U.S.A, and world. If you believe in what we Democrats stand for, see you there! (Views expressed here are solely those of the writer and do not represent Idaho or Kootenai Co. Democratic Party.)
