| March 19, 2016 9:00 PM

Oct. 25, 1954 - March 13, 2016

Chris Charles Barre passed away Sunday morning, March 13, 2016, at his home in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He was 61 years old.

Chris was born Oct. 25, 1954, in Yoakum, Texas. He was a Texas resident for many years, later relocating to Coeur d’Alene where he lived and raised his family for the past 30 plus years. He was a 1973 graduate of Karnes City High School in Karnes City, Texas, where he participated in football, track and various club activities. After graduating from high school, Chris attended Bee County Community College where he earned his Associate in Arts degree in drafting and architectural design.

During summers, Chris’ young, venturesome life led him to travel throughout the Midwestern states as a combine operator on annual wheat harvests. His younger employment career led him to several stops including Pizza Hut, Texas Instruments and Fluor Enterprises in Sugarland, Texas. Along with his brothers, he was instrumental in helping develop a very successful electrical business in Rockport, Texas. After relocating to Idaho, Chris continued his career in the electrical trades business where he eventually became a job-site superintendent working for various contractors traveling throughout the Northwest. He also served as an adjunct instructor teaching electrical trades for North Idaho College.

Chris dearly loved spending every possible moment with his children and grandchildren; his family was the most important thing in his life. He was the “hub” that kept all family members connected. Chris had a passion for coordinating family gatherings and reminiscing the wonderful times experienced by all. Most importantly, Chris was a member of Real Life Church in Coeur d’Alene. He had a love for the Lord and often would share his thoughts with acquaintances.

Chris is predeceased by his parents, Faye and Lawrence Barre. He is survived by Nelda Barre, the mother of his children: Tom Woodman, Aimee Delavan (Nick), Lindsey Barre and Nicholas Barre; four grandchildren Hailey, Olivia, Camryn and Jaxsen; three brothers Larry (Judy), Stanley (Vera) and Kim (Jeannie); along with several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at the Locke-Ruby Church of Christ in Ruby, Wash. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Emmett Paul Snyders Foundation, 18341 N. Atlas Road, Rathdrum, ID 83858 or www.emmettpaulsnydersfoundation.com.
