KNIVES: Bestowed with honor

| March 18, 2016 9:14 PM

On March 9, veterans who served a minimum of one tour in Iraq or Afghanistan with the 92nd air refueling wing of the U.S. Air Force were presented a total of 61 Buck commemorative knives for their honorable military service to our country. The knives were presented on behalf of our donors by Mrs. Chuck Buck and me with a handshake, thank you card, and a list of donors.

Special thanks to God, Mrs. Chuck Buck, the employees of Buck Knives Inc., Mike Patrick, managing editor of the Cd’A and Post Falls Press, and all of our donors.

Also in attendance were Joshua Buck, grandson of the late “Chuck” Buck, representing the fifth generation of the Buck family employed by Buck Knives, Inc.

My wife, Betsy, and our grandson, Alan Fowler, were also in attendance. Alan has recently completed basic training with the Idaho Army National Guard. His grandmother and I are pleased that he has chosen to serve our country.

Again, thanks to all of our donors for making this special gift possible for our veterans, who justly deserve this gift from all of us.
