John J. Gamet, 81

John J. Gamet, 81, of Dalton Gardens, Idaho, went to his reward on March 10, 2016, at Kootenai Health. He was born in Lewiston, Idaho, on Dec. 11, 1934, to John N. and Betty Smith Gamet.

He was married to his sweetheart, Sally Brooks Gamet, for 57 years. John was an avid logger. He owned and operated Gamet Logging and worked for I.F.I. Forest Products, transferring logs until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling, and participated in several motorcycle endurance races. John loved to travel and go camping with family.

Survivors include his daughter, Marcia (D.J.) Gleason of Chewelah, Wash.; son Jeff (Roni) Gamet of Belle Fourche, S.D.; and daughter Traci Gamet of Dalton Gardens, Idaho. Also a sister, Judy (Ray) Bozarth of El Dorado Springs, Mo.

John is also survived by grandchildren Heather (Eric) Pardick of Rathdrum, Idaho, Travis (Katie) Gleason of Condon, Mont., Jason and Cole Gamet of Belle Fourche, Bill and Robyn Gamet of Dalton Gardens; and great-grandchildren Austin and Kylee Pardick, Dakota Wood, Darby and Camden Gleason, and McKinley Gamet and Reece Rainey.

John is preceded in death by his parents, John N. and Betty Smith Gamet; and his wife, Sally.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Lighthouse Calvary Chapel, 650 W. Lancaster Road, Hayden, Idaho. For more info, you can call 762-3777.
