John M. Ferguson, 72

John M. Ferguson, 72, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, in Vancouver, Wash. His son, Michael Ferguson and his two daughters, Julie Jacquot and Christine Ferguson were by his side in his final hours.

John was born on April 15, 1943, in Pinehurst, Idaho, to Charles and Christine Ferguson.

He was a Kootenai County Sheriff for many years, worked as a concrete finisher, and ultimately became an in-home caregiver where he thrived to love, care for and make a difference in less fortunate people’s lives. He enjoyed watching sports, riding horses and snowmobiles, motorcycles and four-wheelers.

John was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Charles, Percy, Clara Mae and Walt; and son Richard F. Ferguson. He is survived by his brothers, Jim, Steve and David; sister Dolores; children Michael (Diane) Ferguson, Julie (Steve) Jacquot and Christine Ferguson; grandchildren Katrina (Mark) Green, KerriAnn (Quan) Busby and Zachary Ferguson, Andrew (Carly) Jacquot and Trace Jacquot, Eden, Brenna and Orianna Ferguson; and great-grandchildren Parker, Addison and Reagan Green, Aria Busby, Jacksyn and Stella Jacquot, and Breckyn and Addilyn Ferguson.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016, at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St. Coeur d’Alene. Final resting place will be Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
