Jason Raymond Ulstad, 44

| March 10, 2016 8:00 PM

On Sunday, March 6, 2016, Jason Raymond Ulstad was taken to be with the Lord. If you have a moment, you might find the three lives of Jason to be interesting. It’s possible that you may have met Jason in his first life. He was that guy that used to drive around in the worst of snow storms looking for any opportunity to shovel someone out of the snow or pull their car out of the ditch with one of the four-wheel drives he loved so much. And if you are the guy with the Datson truck stuck on Fernan, he was really sorry about pulling your bumper off.

In Jason’s first life it really didn’t matter to him whether he was floating on a sheet of plywood with his dog on Hayden Lake, bicycling underwater all the way around Tubbs Hill, swimming, exploring in the mountains or anything that he and his friends and family had come up with to do on any given day. Jason really loved pushing the limits on his snowmobile in the mountains with his friends and family and his wife, Angela, four-wheeling or just hanging out teasing his sister about the Vikings even though they both love them.

In his late 20s Jason’s second life tragically began after a work related accident followed by several major back surgeries left him broken and in constant pain with little recovery or sleep to be found. However, constantly pushing through the pain, he enjoyed regularly spending time watching NASCAR races and fishing with his dad, meeting his mom for dinner at his house or hers almost every day and spending time with his nieces, nephew and grandnephew at his sister’s house.

Jason is survived by his father and mother, Arnie and Cynthia Ulstad; and his sister, Paige (Ron) Neumann. He is very missed by his nieces and nephew, Taylor, Jacob, Hailey and Hannah; grandnephew Bodee and so many friends he considered his family. However, Jason will now most certainly enjoy the absence of physical pain and the joy of his new life with the Lord. At this point you pretty much get the picture. Simply stated, he really was an awesome and loved guy and will be missed very much.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2016, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1700 E. Pennsylvania, Coeur d’Alene.

English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d’Alene, has been entrusted to handle final arrangements. Please visit Jason’s online memorial at www.englishfuneralchapel.com.
