PRESS: Points of contention
As a Press reader, Saturday was another bad day. My neighbor can’t stand the paper and I must confess I find it hard at times to defend it.
The first thing was the column about Trump by Ferguson in the SPORTS section! Not being a real fan of Trump, I find this interestingly timed (Monday primary) trashing of a presidential candidate to be bush league (to use a sports analogy). The writer in the second paragraph says, “Go back 15 years…” Are you kidding me?
As basically a Spokane suburb, why aren’t we covering the annual State B Basketball Tournament in the Coliseum? At least a list of scores. I’ll bet there are more State B fans in the greater Spokane area than any other tournaments in southern Idaho or western Washington.
And then to cap off my day there’s Tyler Wilson including “Demonic Farm Animals” in his headline. What can I say? I purposely avoid his articles because he obviously loves over-the-edge, weird entertainment. Oh for the day when a four-hour “Gone With the Wind” had but one “bad” word.
