Deborah Ann Harshman, 61

Born on June 12, 1954, in Spokane, Wash. Entered into rest on Feb. 27, 2016, in Spokane. She was a longtime resident of Spokane, but was a resident of Careywood, Idaho, for the last five years.

Deborah attended Shadle Park High School. She worked several customer service jobs over the years — the quintessential “people person.” Deborah was a member of Jobs Daughters and the Martin City Pool League. Her hobbies included mothering and grandmothering, puzzles, hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, shooting and generally anything outdoors.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Glenn Harshman of Careywood; daughters Sonja Rae Harshman of Kiana, Alaska, Shauna Corrine Harshman of Careywood, Misty Leane Harshman of Hungry Horse, Mont., Rebekah Sue Harshman of Rathdrum, Idaho, Deborah Jean Harshman of Seeley Lake, Mont., and Rachael Gracelynn Harshman of Hungry Horse; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her father, John Young of Spokane; brothers David Young of Spokane and Steven Young of Wenatchee, Wash.; sister Sheryl Engstrom of Spokane; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her mother, Laurice J. Wren.

A funeral service was held on Monday, March 7, 2016, at Riplinger Funeral Home And Crematory, 4305 N. Division, Spokane. Visitation was held prior to the service.
