Coeur Training opens on Fourth Street

Health and wellness are the goals of Lindsay Herbert and Megan Kane at Coeur Training now open at 802 N. Fourth St. They specialize in functional weight training and cardio cross-training techniques for all ages and fitness levels with top-of-the-line equipment in a supportive, comfortable environment.

Both born and raised here, they competed in rising levels of athletics and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in exercise science and gained experience at local health clubs.

“We offer a place where anyone from a high-level athlete to a middle-age mom can feel welcome,” Herbert said. “We want our clients to find their strength and learn health lifestyle habits.”

Hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays. Phone 659-2022. Check www.coeur-training.com.

Integrated treatment at Muscle Works

An integrated approach of structural therapies, wellness programs and education to help patients feel great and excel at what they enjoy doing most is the specialty at Muscle Works. Dr. Brent Hirschi has opened his office in Suite 114 in Harbor Plaza at 610 W. Hubbard St. (near Cafe Carambola off Northwest Boulevard).

A graduate of Utah State University and Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, he stresses muscle activation, fascia scraping, chiropractic adjustments and concussion screening. His philosophy is working with soft tissue, joints, muscle, fascia, ligaments and tendons for a pain-free and high-performing body.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays and 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Fridays. Phone 660-2480. Check www.activemuscleworks.com.

Now for the Tidbits

- Several eateries aren’t included in those places above. Also watch for Grill from Ipanema and Anthony’s restaurants in Riverstone, Cracker Barrel across from Winco and Roger’s Burgers in Post Falls.

- Go for a walk around the pond at Riverstone and check out the sculptures and waterworks of the Idaho Wildlife Museum in the area outside that majestic Pinkerton Retirement Specialists building.

- Kynrede Cafe at 885 Government Way in Hayden is temporarily closed while owner Lynn Natchway (with husband Jesse) recovers from five surgeries. A benefit is planned to help. Check https://m.facebook.com/SupportForLynn.

- Avoid ending a sentence with “at.” “That’s where the place is” doesn’t need “at.”

- Too many people who don’t really need handicapped parking spaces have passes that they use. They fill spaces needed by people who really need them. And often they park in spaces that say “van only” that are needed for people who need the wider space to get their wheelchairs through side doors from their vehicles.

- I didn’t make it to the gym today. That makes five years in a row.

- “Whenever I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can’t help but cry. I’d love to be skinny like that, but not with all those flies and death and stuff.” — Mariah Carey.

- A real headline: “Homicide victims rarely talk to police.”
