Man wanted in two states captured at Worley home

WORLEY — A 38-year-old wanted fugitive was arrested at a Worley home on Thursday night.

Michael A. Pena, from Milton-Freewater, Ore., was wanted in two states: in Oregon for a parole violation and escaping from community custody, and in Washington for a sex offender registration violation. He is being held at the Kootenai County jail without bond and awaiting extradition back to Washing-ton.

31, also of Milton-Freewater, was also arrested and charged with harboring a fugitive. She told deputies that Pena is her boyfriend. Her bond is $25,0000.

Deputies received a tip from the from the Milton-Freewater Police Department in Oregon around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday that Pena was believed to be holed up at a Worley home.

Deputies arrived at the mobile home in the 600 block of Red Tailed Hawk Lane and contacted two females who both denied knowing Pena.

One of the females who said she lives at the home gave deputies permission to search the residence. Pena was found hiding in a back bedroom and was arrested without further incident.
