KEC: One class act

| June 22, 2016 9:00 PM

During two of the hottest days on record, we had a crew of five courteous men working to bury our power line. A temporary heavy cable had been installed on top of the frozen ground to restore our power during the winter storm that left hundreds of trees and lines down. That storm also left about 20 feet of line, downed by a fallen tree, lying on our access road. This was promptly attended to. One cannot help thinking of them working around the clock to keep our lives safe, functional and bright. During the best and worst conditions, their work is highly technical and dangerous.

They dug, sometimes by hand, down the middle of our long drive. This ground is like concrete full of gravel and rocks. I heard a buzz of chatter and laughter. Sometimes it was all attention. They seemed like brothers. There is no new thought here, but theirs is a class act.
