CHURCH: Disappointed member

| June 3, 2016 9:00 PM

A week ago I wrote about the lack of common sense in regard to the LGBT community. Well common sense left our church today.

In the past the church leader would ask all the Veterans and current service members to stand up and be acknowledged, not this year. No we had to hear about a father and his gay son’s struggles.

We listened to a speaker on what he, as a Christian father, went through discovering his son was gay. I disagreed on some of his facts and surveys he quoted and the fact the Christian community should apologize to the LBGT community. I am not here to talk about that.

Memorial Day, giving thanks to all the ones who died for our country. It would have been a perfect analogy to talk about how Jesus Christ died for our sins and how many Veterans died for our country. To me, its common sense!

I love our Pastor Mike Rima and Lake City Church, but is no day sacred anymore? Once again we are subjected to hearing about the LGBT community.

Many of you are sure to condemn me as homophobic. In 1983, I was married and my best man was gay, long before it was fashionable to have any gay friends.
