A Coeur d'Alene man who has been arrested 12 times in Kootenai County since 2000 was arrested again after leading law enforcement on a brief foot chase in Hauser Friday.

Kootenai County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of an unwanted person around 10:30 a.m. at a residence on Chase Road. Walter Miles, 55, reportedly threatened the life of the reporting party and was known by deputies to have a felony warrant for a parole violation on an aggravated assault with a weapon charge from the Idaho State Penitentiary.

Upon deputies' arrival at the location, Miles fled on foot, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office.  After everyone on scene was checked for injuries, a K9 unit tracked Miles, locating him about three-tenths of a mile from the residence, hiding under a large rock outcropping.

Miles was taken into custody for the warrant. He was also charged with resisting/obstructing law enforcement and may face additional charges for battery and assault pending further investigation of the incident, according to the sheriff's office.
