GUNS: Liberty name of game
On Monday, The Press ran two articles indicating “wide support for gun law changes” in the wake of the recent tragic shootings, and noted actions blocked by Congress. This is part of the current nationwide push to make the “history illiterate” masses use our so called “democracy” to effect changes in our fundamental liberties. They also represent a great example of why the Constitution was written in such strong language, with declarative statements like “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.” Not “should not” — shall not.
Despite what the POTUS and his allies in the media incessantly spew about “in our democracy;” We, The People of these united States DO NOT live in a state of mob rule. This IS still a Constitutional Republic, with unalienable rights from our Creator, unable to have a legal claim (a “lien”) put against them. They are guaranteed, and cannot be taken, transferred or given up, no matter if Congress “takes action” by passing a law, or not.
I understand that people are scared, and that there is an instinctual need to feel “safe.” But this country was founded on Liberty, not safety. Patrick Henry did NOT say “Give me security, or give me death!”
Life and “Peace,” without Liberty, is servitude; it is chains and slavery, even if they rest lightly upon you. And this is why the federal government was NOT delegated the power to “do something about the guns,” no matter how many polls are conducted or newspaper articles written.
