Final sweep for Waste Management garbage containers next week
Nearly all Waste Management garbage containers have been picked up from Coeur d’Alene residences, according to a press release issued Thursday by the city.
The company, which as of July 1 no longer provides the city’s garbage hauling service, has made two rounds through the entire city and continues to pick up containers daily. It will be making a final sweep next week.
Waste Management asks that all remaining Waste Management containers be empty and placed out for pickup by 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1. Residents are advised to leave the containers out until they’re picked up, as it will take two to three days for Waste Management drivers to canvas the entire community.
If a container has not been picked up by Thursday, Aug. 4, the city is advising residents to call Waste Management at (208) 765-4968.
The city transitioned its garbage collection service to Coeur d’Alene Garbage Service, a private, Post Falls-based company, and residents are now using that company’s cans.
