HOME: It's sweet here

| July 27, 2016 9:00 PM

I am tired of some people in this great Northwest complaining about retired police officers and firemen and women retiring to this wonderful area. Come on people. We all have a right to choose where we live. As for my husband and I, we are both from this area. I was born and raised in Spokane. My husband was born and raised in Montana and the Seattle area. For a sundry of reasons we both made our careers in the L.A. area. My husband spent 30 years in law enforcement and I, 20 years. We could not wait to retire and get out of that area. We chose to come back home to this beautiful place. All others choosing to live in this beautiful location are doing so to live out their years in a safe and secure environment.

Moving on to another topic. I am soon to be 75 years young. During my time on this Earth, I have seen our country slowly turning to ruin. Whatever happened to the days when parents taught their children honor and respect for our culture and laws, and respect for our public servants who protect and serve us.

My husband and I have many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I worry that if society keeps on this downward slope, it will turn to total anarchy where laws and borders no longer mean anything.

I pray I live long enough to see all of this turn around.
