Bikes stolen from Blackwell RV Resort

COEUR d'ALENE — A string of bicycle thefts occurred Saturday night at the Blackwell Island RV Resort in Coeur d'Alene.

Three families camping at the resort, according to police reports, contacted the Coeur d'Alene Police Department Sunday morning to notify officers of the stolen bicycles. According to police reports, four bicycles in total were stolen, with a total estimated value of $4,800.

All three of the campers told police similar stories about the thefts. After securing their bicycles on Saturday evening, they went to bed.

However, upon waking up Sunday morning they discovered there were bikes missing from their campsites.

The bikes are described as follows in the police reports: 1.) A bright orange Norco 7.1 Storm bicycle, with an estimated value of $800 2.) A brown specialized bicycle, with an estimated value of $2,400 3.) A blue specialized bicycle, with an estimated value of $900 4.) A yellow Norco 7.1 Storm bicycle, with an estimated value of $700

According to the police reports, the responding officer spoke with the manager of the resort, who told the officer he would review security footage captured on the premises Saturday night. None of the victims could provide the officer with any information on a potential suspect.
