Braeden Newby hit a three-run home run in the first inning for Coeur d’Alene in a 15-7 loss to West Valley on Saturday in the second game of the best-of-3 state championship series. West Valley won the state title 2 games to 0.

AGE 10-11

At Duck Alley, Eagle

Southwest Ada 7, Hayden 2: Colin Cherny had two hits for Hayden in a loss to Southwest Ada in the second game of the best-of-3 state championship series. Southwest Ada won the state championship 2-0.

Braydon Ross, Bryce Hall and Romynn Schaefer each had one hit for Hayden.
