Hayden streets to be closed Saturday for parade
The annual Hayden Days Parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, and will run along Government Way starting at Hayden Avenue and ending at Nita Avenue.
Due to the parade, Government Way will be closed to the public from approximately 8:15-10 a.m. from Hayden to Miles Avenue, and will reopen once parade units have passed. Beginning at approximately 9:55 a.m., side streets from Hayden to Nita Avenues will also be blocked off and reopened once parade units have passed.
This year’s parade will include the Hayden Citizen of the Year Theresa Hart, Northern Lakes Fire Protection District, Shriner’s Octocycle, U.S. Forest Service Smokey Bear, Flip Factory Gymnastics, Coeur d’Alene High School cheer squad, Hot Punch Highlanders, Kootenai County Sheriff, Fallen Hero Banner Project, classic cars and more.
Hayden Days will be held in McIntire Family Park (previously known as Hayden City Park) on Friday, July 22, from 2-9 p.m. and Saturday, July 23, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The festivities will open with a Hayden Park Renaming/McIntire Family Park Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
This year’s featured bands will be the Kelly Hughes Band on Friday night and Smash Hit Carnival on Saturday night. The “Hayden’s Got Talent” show featuring lots of amazing performances will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
There will be a large variety of food and mixed-goods vendors, a beer and wine garden, pony rides, bouncy houses, water bobbles, kids’ games, Zumba and cheerleading demos and more.
