Patricia Fay Bennion, 69

Patricia Fay Bennion, 69, passed away July 15, 2016, at Kootenai Health after a long battle with a genetic lung disease (Alpha One Antitrypsin Deficiency).

Patty was born March 31, 1947, on the shores of Lake Coeur d’Alene, Silver Beach — at the home of her parents, Thomas T. and Marion (Young) Robinson, where her parents settled when they migrated west from New York State. When she was age 5, the family moved to Wolf Lodge Bay on Lake Coeur d’Alene where she and her three loving older sisters grew up. She learned to swim, water ski and fish. She absolutely loved the outdoors, often looking up at the stars. She attended school in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

On July 27, 1963, she married the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, Rodney Bennion at the First Presbyterian Church in Coeur d’Alene. Patty was a homemaker, she loved caring for her home and having family and friends come to visit. She and Rod were not only husband and wife, they were the best of friends, fishing partners and travel companions. But she always seemed to out fish him! They shared 53 loving years of marriage. Patty was an avid scrapbooker, she had a scrapbook finished for each of her grandchildren upon graduation. So many wonderful memories with family and friends.

Patricia was a loving wife, mother, Nana and Great Nana. She is survived by her husband, Rodney; sons Patrick and Timothy; grandchildren Tiara and husband Reuben Renner, Kayla and husband Russell Freier, Curtis and wife Chelsie Bennion, and Makenzie Bennion; great-grandchildren Jaelyn, Brayson, Emmitt, Izabella and Jozlyn; older sister, Della (Mike) Russell; sisters-in-law Carolyn Waldram, Betty-gay (Bob) Heartz and Bobbett Bartholomew; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
