Indians top Canadians

SPOKANE — Three Spokane pitchers combined to strike out 14 hitters as the Indians beat the Vancouver Canadians 7-2 in Northwest League baseball in front of 3,765 at Avista Stadium on Wednesday.

Nick Green struck out seven through five innings and reliever Steven Bruce had one and Tyler Ferguson fanned six in three innings to get the save for Spokane (16-17), which finished the game with 11 runners left on base.

Elio Castillo went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and Blaine Prescott and Preston Scott scored two runs each for Spokane.

J.B. Woodman and Jacob Anderson had RBIs for Vancouver (16-17).

Vancouver pitching walked nine Spokane hitters, but held the Indians’ offense to 2 for 14 with runners in scoring position.

Spokane travels to Boise to start a five-game series tonight at 6:15 PDT at Memorial Stadium.
