Not one, but two $150K Powerball winners claim prizes won in Kootenai County

Two recent Powerball $150,000 winning tickets sold in Kootenai County were claimed from the Idaho Lottery via the United States Postal Service, independent of each other. Both tickets matched four of the five first numbers and the Powerball, plus had the PowerPlay feature which turned $50,000 winning tickets into $150,000 prizes.

Catherine Oliver from Athol claimed her $150,000 winning ticket that was purchased at Hayden Jifi Stop on Hayden Ave for the July 13, 2016 draw.

The other winner, Mark Pierce from Coeur d’Alene claimed his $150,000 winning ticket that was purchased at Piggie’s Deli Mart in Coeur d’Alene on Sherman for the July 6, 2016 draw.

“It’s not uncommon for players and winners from northern Idaho to claim their prizes in the mail,” said Idaho Lottery Public Information Specialist, David Workman. “What is unusual is that both winners, from two different draws, a week apart, decided to claim their winnings this way in lieu of making their way to Boise and that both of them arrived and were paid on the same day.”

The Powerball jackpot for tonight’s draw is an estimated $361 million.
