MILLENNIALS: A great generation
Millennials are often unfairly described as being the generation of self-entitled, narcissistic, basement dwelling, video gaming college students who still live with their parents.
I would like to respectfully debunk that stereotype with some facts.
Did you know millennials are now the largest, most diverse generation in the U.S. population?
Did you know more millennials have a college degree than any other generation of young adults?
Did you know millennials actually stay with their employers longer than Generation X workers did at the same ages? They are more likely to have been with their employer for a fairly long period like 3 to 6 years!
Did you know the millennial generation makes up a third of the work force?
Though virtually connected more than ever, the millennial generation is also very keen on spending time with family.
According to a report by the Council of Economic Advisers in 2014, the millennial generation has invested its knowledge, talents and time into benefiting not just themselves but others in their community.
It’s time we decide to look through the lens of truth rather than focusing on the optics of opinions.
These are the facts.
With nearly 75.5 million millennials today it’s time we motivate them to continue to do what they are doing right rather than magnifying the minute issues.
Let us not only focus on the positive but further encourage others to continue to foster understanding on these issues.
