Indians fall short against Vancouver

SPOKANE — Rodrigo Orozco doubled to score Javier Hernandez in the top of the sixth inning for the Vancouver Canadians in a 1-0 win against the Spokane Indians in Northwest League baseball in front of 3,225 at Avista Stadium on Tuesday.

Spokane (15-17) left seven runners on base and finished 0 for 7 with runners in scoring position. Vancouver (16-16) was 1 for 17 with runners in scoring position.

Chad Smith gave Spokane its best scoring chance in the eighth inning, hitting a double with one out, but was thrown out trying to steal third base.

Griffin Glaude allowed one hit over three innings of relief to get the win for Vancouver.

The teams conclude the three-game series tonight at 6:30.
