Barbara Alice Brown, 94, wife of the late Elbert Lee Brown of Santa Clara, Calif., passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2016, in Campbell, Calif.

Born April 20, 1922, in New Orleans, La., she was the daughter of the late John Roy Black and Barbara Menge Black. Her family relocated to Campbell, Calif., in 1930. She met her future husband while he was stationed in San Francisco and after marrying, they moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where they raised three sons. In 1962, they returned to the Bay Area and settled in Santa Clara. She retired from Fairchild Semiconductor in Mountain View, Calif.

She is survived by sons James “Mike” Brown and his wife, Cynthia of Elk Grove, Calif., and Richard Allen Brown and his wife, Cashia of Mountain Home, Idaho; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her beloved husband, Elbert, Barbara was predeceased by her eldest son, Donald Lee Brown; siblings James Roy Black, Charles William Black and Marguerite Elizabeth Denny.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at San Joaquin National Cemetery in Santa Nella, Calif.
