Charles William Setzer, 82

Charles William Setzer, 82, of Coeur d’Alene, passed away July 12, 2016, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Charles was born Aug. 8, 1933, in Queens, N.Y., to Elizabeth Raw and Charles Setzer and grew up in the Bronx.

Charles attended school in the Bronx where he graduated high school from Bronx Vocational High School. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy, later he moved to Long Beach, Calif., and in 1967 moved to the Coeur d’Alene area. Charles attended North Idaho College for one year. In 1985, he married Anna and they always attended the 8 a.m. church services at the First Presbyterian Church, greeting all who entered with a smile and a hug. Charles enjoyed drawing, building model ships and airplanes, and loved being outdoors.

Charles is survived by his wife, Anna Setzer; and his sister-in-law, Barbara Dingman and one daughter, Joanne Setzer.

Viewing will be held from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church in Coeur d’Alene, with funeral service starting at 10 a.m. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls, Idaho.
