ASA SOFTBALL: Xtreme advance in Champions Cup

IRVINE, Calif. — Haley Loffer went 3 for 3 with two runs scored in Friday’s late game in pool play of the Champions Cup, helping the North Idaho Xtreme under-18 softball team finish with a 4-1-1 record and second seed into today’s single-elimination bracket round. Kelsey Gumm hit a two-run homer in the win.
In earlier action, Hannah Bell went 2 for 4 with an RBI and run scored as the Xtreme beat Ekahi of Hawaii 6-3. On Thursday, the Xtreme tied Nor Cal Fireworks 3-3 and lost to Power Surge of San Diego 6-5.
Elena Cook of the Xtreme went 2 for 2 with three RBIs against Nor Cal, and Martha Tooley went 2 for 3 with two RBIs against Power Surge.
The Xtreme resume tournament play today at 4 p.m.
