SOLUTION: A good job

On The Press “I am a racist” editorial page:

How can anyone be right if everyone is wrong?

How can letter after letter of tribalistic parroting from our favorite media silo solve anything?

How can more rancid overgeneralizations be constructive? Once right is always right?

Here is how everyone is wrong:

Liberals have actually caused inequality and even resentment between public sector peace officers and former factory/mill workers. How many private sector workers can retire at 50 with 90 percent of their pay? Spike their pension with a last minute promotion before retirement? Most peace officers have retired relatively wealthy while mills and factories have closed. Many just went on disability. Right here. And it’s worse elsewhere.

The 21st century high earners are, more often than not, public sector workers. Teachers, firemen, city administrators, water district workers and especially peace officers make and have benefits far more than tradesmen and non-farm workers who rarely have any benefits and low paying jobs with no pensions.

Add nepotism and cronyism for public workers family and friends, and it perpetuates.

Maybe that’s why so many peace officers are white? Even in Ferguson, Mo.?

The export or eliminating private sector jobs remains colorblind. But we can’t export public sector jobs nor import public sector replacement workers on H1B visas like Republicans love to do in the private sector. Yet bonuses to those who eliminate jobs and condemnation of the unemployed go on with reckless abandon.

Now those lucky enough to have private sector jobs are reclassified private contractors or part-time workers. Either way, no benefits. Bring on Uncle Sam!

Whether you’re a limousine liberal or a flee-to-Idaho conservative or in between, you are complicit in creating this public sector/private sector inequality.

The best social program is a family wage job. Not a handout to the idle whose job moved overseas.
