RATHDRUM — Dalton Strong drove in two runs for Northern Lakes in an 8-1 win in the opening game of a Class AA North Idaho League doubleheader at Gorton Field on Wednesday.
In the nightcap, Jarred Hall and Grayson Baker drove in two runs each as Coeur d’Alene topped Northern Lakes 6-4 to earn the split.
Joe Strietzel and Max Baker scored two runs each in the first game for Northern Lakes (12-18, 5-7 NIL), which hosts Premier on Monday.
Coeur d’Alene (9-20, 3-5) hosts Missoula on Friday at Thorco Field.

Prairie splits games
in Tri-Cities
Matt Lebsock hit a go-ahead RBI double in the top of the eighth inning, lifting the Prairie Cardinals past the Columbia Reach 12-11 in eight innings in Kennewick.
Brock Zeller pitched three innings of relief to get the win for Prairie against Columbia.
“Our pitchers did a great job in the first game pitching through some poor defense,” said Prairie coach Brian Fowler, whose team committed five errors in the win. “Brock threw three great innings for us closing out the game and getting the win.”
Tanner McCliment-Call went 2 for 3 with an RBI for Prairie in a 15-4 loss to the host Walla Walla Bears.
Prairie (12-26) travels to Lewis-Clark for a North Idaho League doubleheader on Friday starting at 5 p.m. at Harris Field.
