Garcia, Anderson top finishers at Hayden Tri

HAYDEN — Derek Garcia of Coeur d’Alene was the top overall finisher in 55 minutes, 48.5 seconds at the sixth annual Hayden Triathlon on Saturday at Honeysuckle Beach.

Garcia finished the 1/2-mile swim in 10:51, 12-mile bike leg in 26.31 and 3.1-mile run in 17:19. Daniel Shaw, also of Coeur d’Alene, finished second in 1:00.56.9, followed by Sam Picicci of Spokane in 1:01.10.2.

Brandy Anderson of Coeur d’Alene was the top women’s finisher in 1:07.29.2. Suzanne Endsley of Hayden was third in 1:13.24.5.
