BRIDGE: Center badly needed

| July 10, 2016 9:00 PM

I would like to comment on the letter to the News-Press on June 30 about the Bridge Community Center. I am one of the lots of people who went to this place, used the facilities. There were so so many programs going on, most free or very little cost. They covered all the different types of people here in the Valley. A lot of benefits for everyone. Children, free lunches, programs of all kinds, Special Olympics programs, yoga, Spanish lessons, cooking, music, sign language. The list goes on and on. So needed in this Valley.

I, myself am considered a senior (hate to admit), was taking yoga, Spanish lessons, was getting ready to sign up for painting classes. All this at very little to no cost. Spoke with all the volunteers, trying to keep place open. They loved it there.

PLEASE, people. Why are you letting this place go down? Something so needed here. A nonprofit just trying to help in this crazy world. Helps keep kids out of trouble and adults out of the bars. Contact Tommie Lewis at 512-9327 and offer to do something!
